Carnivore is one of the easiest ways to reduce calorie consumption without feeling hungry and to restore the metabolic health of your body.
That is because most people whom are overweight tend to excessively consume junk-related carb food sources. Most carb food sources that we humans consume on a daily basis are junk. Poor-nutritional carb food sources impact the overall body's health. Affecting gut health, insulin, metabolism, mental & physical states, and much more.
Junk food as in: Ultra-processed foods; Snacks, chips, candy, pastires, soda, sugar-related foods or beverages, etc. Fast foods, microwavable foods, canned foods, etc. Humans should and always strive for organic-whole foods. They're the best when it comes to proper nourishment.
The Carnivore diet is a meat-only diet. So, you're avoiding, refraining, and removing essentially all the junk food - that causes weight gain.
So, basically, in this diet plan, you just eat meat or animal products for every meal eliminating completely fruits, vegetables, nuts, legumes, grains, and seeds. You must also limit or eliminate your intake of certain dairy products containing the sugar lactose to remain true to the zero-carb plan of the diet.
In addition, since you're removing food groups - you may end up in a calorie deficit. Meaning, the body has no choice but to lose body fat due to not an excessive intake of food, known as a calorie surplus. So now, your body will burn more energy than it consumes, therefore, leading to weight loss. (Calorie deficit overall will promote weight loss).
Can you lose weight on a carnivore diet without exercising?
Losing weight on the carnivore diet is easy. Since you're restricting food groups, you're avoiding essentially all junk foods. So, you may end up in a calorie deficit. Secondly, since you have hardly any carb intake, you'll utilize your own body fat as fuel, resulting in weight loss over time.
Like any diet, this diet is not the optimal way of losing weight or by living. Sure, it can heal some ailents from within, but it's not the key nor answer to life/question.
Since you're depleted from carbs; you may enter ketosis - which is when your body uses its own body fat for fuel resulting in fat loss over time.
Also, Protein foods increase metabolism, keep you satiated for longer, and burn more calories. Studies have shown that the consumption of protein-rich food increases satiety and keeps you away from binge eating and craving high-carb foods.
The Carnivore diet is like the keto diet, but the carnivore diet focuses on meats whereas keto focuses on fats more than protein.

The Keto diet is very similar to the Carnivore diet. The difference are:
- Keto - High Fat, Moderate protein, 0 carbs.
- The Carnivore diet: Meat-only. 0 carbs. High protein, moderate fats.
It's been reported that a high-protein, low-carb diet (like the keto carnivore diet) can effectively promote healthy weight loss, improve metabolic health, and enhance cognitive function.
Dangers of The Carnivore Diet
Carnivores are at a high risk of overloading with saturated fats, which can raise LDL cholesterol levels and increase the risk of heart disease. Processed meats, such as bacon, salami, and ham, have high levels of sodium.
Eating lots of salt raises the risk of health dangers such as kidney disease and high blood pressure. Eating processed meats is also associated with increased rates of some cancers.
(The carnivore diet can lead to an increased risk of developing heart disease because it prioritizes foods that are high in saturated fat, such as fatty steaks, which can elevate cholesterol levels)
Eating only animal meat could lead to an insufficient intake of certain vitamins and minerals. This is especially the case with vitamin C and folate, where the main food sources are fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
My Conclusion on the Carnivore Diet
The carnivore diet is an extreme diet protocol. I wouldn't recommend it for long-term use. However, if you're trying to lose weight efficiently, and effectively, pretty fast, then yes, utilizing the carnivore diet will be beneficial in this case.
