Why Breakfast Matters When Trying to Gain Weight

When it comes to gaining weight, many people skip out on meals. Primarily, breakfast. So, why should you eat breakfast just to gain weight?

It replenishes your supply of glucose to boost your energy levels and alertness, while also providing other essential nutrients required for good health

As the name suggests, breakfast breaks the overnight fasting period. It replenishes your supply of glucose to boost your energy levels and alertness, while also providing other essential nutrients required for good health.

If the goal is trying to gain weight, muscle, and body fat >Weight<, then you should go about consuming breakfast. Do not Skip Breakfast.

Any meal you skip will make you miss out on calories. Calories are important for body weight gain. If you're underfed, you simply won't grow.

Every person is different when it comes to how many calories their body needs. So, if you have a difficult time gaining weight, and IF YOU DO SKIP BREAKFAST - you're skipping out on those calories which are important for overall calorie consumption. The more opportunities you get to eat, go for it!

Having a structured diet and nutrition regime is the way to go. It'll help you stay on track, and to get in those calories.

If you think you can get in your calorie quota at the end of the day you can't. You cannot JAM X amount of calories in at the end of the night just to reach your calorie quota. Even if you do, your body won't utilize all of those calories into 'weight gain,' it'll simply become waste, and parts will be utilized as weight gain.

Eating throughout the day - breakfast, lunch, dinner, and some snacks in between, will ensure that you're eating enough, getting in those vital & essential nutrients, and won't be underfed.

How Many Calories Needed for Breakfast

Nutrition experts estimate that average daily consumption at each meal should be broken down as follows: 300 to 400 calories for breakfast, and 500 to 700 calories each for lunch and dinner.

What Breakfast Should Look Like

Breakfast is the most important meal. You're breaking your fast from overnight sleeping and your last meal. So now, you should nourish your body properly with healthy nutritious foods. Eat foods that are good quality. Have an array of nutrients. Like Proteins, fats, and carbs. Do not go for those sugary foods/drinks. Oatmeal, eggs, and fish/lean meat is the way to go for breakfast. Avacado for healthy fats, oats/bread/organic grains, fruits, vegetables, seeds/nuts, berries, etc are all nutritious and proper for the human body. These types of foods will provide long-lasting energy for the rest of the day.
