How To Eat More VEGETABLES! 6 Tips to Get Yourself Eating [More] Veggies.

How To Eat More VEGETABLES!

The majority of the population in the USA does not eat healthy, especially when it comes to eating vegetables. We are all used to going to fast food places and ordering a burger, a soda, and fries. Sounds bomb right? It sure does feed and satisfy you, however, it's unhealthy and it can make us fat. Well, it does, when people excessively consume fast foods...Fast foods are processed, and in fact, most of us are eating processed foods. But there is no escaping that unless you always buy fresh organic whole foods. You can still become healthy by eating processed foods, but you have to be wise and know what to eat to become healthy. It's all about balance.

I never liked vegetables until I became an adult. Throughout my childhood to adulthood, I was always getting yelled at because I always avoided my vegetables. I would skip them or feed them to the dog, lol. To be honest, do kids know why we need to eat vegetables? Probably not, but some do because us, parents, try to convince veggies are good for our health, but the veggies are new to them, looking like a foreign object which doesn't make them interested. Or even if they try to eat them, they do not like the taste because it's not tasty nor savory, so I can see why kids aren't used to them. They never once tried to eat veggies before. When you're hooked on nothing but processed foods and especially junk foods, it hard to tell your brain - YES VEGGIES are good, but in reality, your brain is saying - THIS IS DISGUSTING, but we don't know the difference due to lack of knowledge and always going after those junk foods. Junk food is addicting, that's why we tend to overeat or excessively eat...Junk food is made to be tasty to confuse our brains to get more and more and more. Sure, there are healthier alternatives, but most healthy alts aren't that tasty. You can make not so tasty foods, tasty! By simply cooking it, adding spices, herbs, etc. Endless options to go about when preparing foods. That is what I did at first to become adapted to eating veggies. I did not like the taste of veggies, but I noticed I liked the cooked ones from the restaurants. Ever noticed yourself eating veggies or salads sometimes at restaurants? Well, it could because the dressings on the salads are loaded with sugar and it's junk, so I can see why people add a lot of dressing onto their salads. I would not recommend that if you're on a diet, but if that's one way to get veggies down, sure go for it...But don't drink half the bottle of dressing just to get veggies down. I started to cook my own veggies, adding them, for example, to eggs. I started to add spinach to eggs along with cheese, just to, ya know, add flavor onto the veggies, to mask the weirdness of the spinach. I'm not a big fan of spinach, so that's one way how I get my spinach intake in. I mask its flavor so I can comfortably consume it. I also use hot sauce on most of my veggies to mask their flavor.

Tips On How To Get More Friggin Vegetables!

(1) Force YourSelf to Adapt to Eating Vegetables!

In order to adapt to anything people, you must endure the process of doing so. That's how I began to start eating vegetables, on a daily basis. It was very hard for me, but I had a goal in mind, I wanted to become healthier and feel more alive. I also wanted to become leaner to become more aesthetic, so eating veggies was ideal in my case. Yes, it'll be complicated and you're going to suffer, but that comes along with anything. Bodybuilding, sports, becoming an athlete; every one of those fields, you have to sacrifice, suffer and you will endure tough obstacles in your path, but once your mind overcomes it, which doesn't take that long to be honest, you'll look back and say, Damn, That was easy and I was glad I made the right decision.

(2) Cook Your Vegetables

Cooking your vegetables is one of the best ways to make your veggies tastier. There are endless options to do what you want with your veggies. You can make an Egg veggie omelet which in my opinion is the best way to consume veggies because you can add loads of things to your omelet. Cheese, spices, herbs, etc. You can also do asparagus wrapped in bacon, which is the bomb but a bit unhealthy due to the bacon.

Try zucchini noodles: a great alternative to pasta noodles. Great alternative because I find zucchini tasty and it's healthy. So, give this a try and see how it goes.

But here are some other quick tips:

  • Roasting or grilling vegetables with a drizzle of olive oil to get a more complex flavor. Sautéed: Cooking vegetables in butter or oil on the stovetop is a popular way to prepare them. Like roasting, the additional fat improves the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins in the vegetables.

  • Air Frying: One method that has grown in popularity is using an air fryer to get the delicious, crunchy taste of fried food without the extra fat and calories. Another tried-and-true method is roasting or grilling vegetables with a drizzle of olive oil to get a more complex flavor.

  • Cooking Oils: Cooking oils come in a variety of flavors that add different dimensions to dishes. Coconut oil, for example, tastes vastly different than olive oil. Experiment with different oil and spice combinations to find your favorites.

(3) Using Veggies and Dips

Serve them with a dip Have fun with your dip options instead of just serving up a side of ranch dressing (although, if you love that, go for it!). Raw or blanched veggies taste great with dips like hummus, guacamole, tahini, or tzatziki. But don't limit your dips to raw veggies: any of these (and so much more) can be drizzled over roasted or grilled vegetables as well.

6 Delicious dips to dress up your raw veggies

  • Tasty Tzatziki. With a few ingredients and a smidge of effort, you can put together this delicious Greek dip in no time. ...
  • Yummy Hummy-us. We love Hummus. ...
  • White Bean dip. White Bean dip at its base is quite similar to traditional hummus. ...
  • Guacamole.
  • Greek Yogurt Ranch dip.
  • Beet and Goats Cheese dip.

(4) Blend Your Vegetables into A Smoothie!

If you're really trying to mask the taste of greens, but want the benefits of them, then try throwing them into a sweet smoothie or green juice. When something like spinach or kale is blended with a variety of fruits and a nut milk, you can't even taste that it's in there. This is a great way to get your vegetables in while consuming something delicious.

(5) Have a Tasty Protein-Packed Salad!

Salads are one of my go-to's because there are endless options to go about salads. Dressings or no dressings - a variety of types of dressings can be used. Cheese, spices, herbs, condiments, etc can be added to your salads to spice up the taste. Along with that, add some protein to mask some of the veggie flavors. Grilled chicken for example is good on a salad. Fish, tuna, salmon, beef, etc all can be used as the main flavor to mask most of the flavor of the veggies. So, pack in loads of veggies, drizzle some dressings to add a nice kick to it, add some lemon or lime to give more flavor, maybe a spice or two, and for the final ingredient and filler; the protein. Add anything that you'd like to have a healthy meal.

(6) Try using Frozen Vegetables

Frozen veggies are good and ideal if you want to prepare them fast. Fresh organic foods are best, but frozen foods wrong go wrong neither.

Health Benefits of Steam Bag Vegetables

Steam bag vegetables, like other frozen vegetables, are usually flash frozen right after they are picked. This means they may have more nutrients than fresh vegetables that have spent a long time traveling across the country. The nutrients in steam bag vegetables include a number of essential vitamins and minerals, as well as fiber and phytochemicals. These nutrients help to lower your risk for a number of health conditions, including high cholesterol, high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, vision problems, obesity and cancer.
