Got Brittle Bones? Here's How to Get Stronger!
Okay, so brittle bones is a condition, an abnormal condition due to many factors such as a disability, neglecting nutrients, and other life changes (hormones, etc). However, it's hard to say what you have, so I'm going to cover how to get stronger and overcome the state of having "brittle-bones."
Your bones are weak, and prone to fractures.
We want to avoid injuries, so we must exercise in order to promote strength. If you do not exercise, you won't gain strength nor maintain the strength you have, and over time, you will begin to lose muscle mass and strength overall. So, daily exercise, or, 3/4x a week of exercising will help promote bone and muscle strength.
Diet and nutrition is also a factor when it comes to overcoming brittle bones.
If you aren't eating the right nutrients, you may be actually causing harm without even noticing or knowing. Foods nowadays are complicated to understand because the majority of the population have no Diet/nutrition knowledge; So people end up consuming excessive amounts of toxic nutrients or follow a bad diet, which leads to loss of bone density, and it doesn't promote a healthy outcome. If you promote a healthy diet, eating vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, etc, and avoiding junk food as much as possible, you will begin to promote strength in your muscles and bones because your body is actually now receiving the nutrients it needs in order to get stronger and to recover properly. If you're always eating junk, drinking sodas, and neglecting healthy eating, you are prone to injuries, so fix up that diet!
Life changes can cause some issues to the body as well.
Stress is one factor, not getting enough/proper sleep is a second factor, sitting all day with no exercise can impact your life big time. It's important to realize what you're doing in life and make the necessary adjustments. Reduce/minimize your stress levels (mentally and physically), sleep more, make sure you're sleeping properly and feeling well-rested upon wakening up and focus on healthy habits to promote a strong body as an outcome.
SHORT NOTES FOR IMPROVING BRITTLE BONES
- EXERCISE IS CRITICAL : Physical Therapy. Pool Therapy is an excellent way to get your exercise in. It reduces the amount of stress that is placed upon your bones and muscles. Anyone and everyone can benefit from Pool therapy. Warm-pool therapy is key for beginners. If you are severe, you can use bodyweight movements. Moving your arms, legs, shoulders, etc can help stimulate your muscles which in returns makes it stronger. By moving around, you're doing good than harm. By sitting and not moving, you're doing harm than good. It's good if you move a bit, even if it's difficult for you.
Also, using resistance bands is great too! It doesn't weigh as much and it's efficient for building muscle and strength overall!
- Diet and Nutrition - Make sure to eat healthily. Reduce/avoid eating poor/junk as much as possible. Poor diet leads to poor health, poor bone and muscle health. By embracing a healthy diet, you can promote strength and provide your bones and muscles the nutrients it needs to stay strong. Vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, berries, etc are healthy and should be consumed on a daily basis. Fruit/veggie smoothies, supplements, etc are all ideal.
- Life factors : Try to be active, do not sleep all day, try to avoid/minimize stress as much as possible, and make sure you're resting properly for the benefits. Full recovery, full restoration, and full performance.
- Supplementations for stronger bones : Supplements are supplements, to supplement something. It's beneficial to take supplements to improve your health's outcome. For instance, I take vitamin D, vitamin c, calcium, zinc, iron supplements to help promote strength to my bones and muscles. However, I also eat proper and healthy, so I'm ensuring that my body is receiving the vital nutrients it needs. If you cannot get enough of certain vitamins/minerals, supplementations is the key!
- So far, there is no cure for brittle bones disease. The only way we can help with this condition is by battling through it. You must be active, exercising will help strengthen your bones and muscles, along with a healthy diet, you're promoting a healthy outcome at the end of the day. If you're consistent with your exercising, eating healthy and proper, sleeping well, etc, you are minimizing your risk for injuries to it's fullest; By being inactive, you are letting yourself go - you're degrading your body's bones and muscle strength.
