Ideal or not: meal replacement shakes for weight loss?

Are Meal Replacement Shakes worth it for Weight Loss?

Shakes are convenient, easy, fast, and can be healthy. Sure, they can help reduce calorie consumption that'll lead to weight loss, but is it ideal?

What is the Deal About Meal Replacements?

The whole point of a meal replacement is to - replace your meals with A Shake.

To reduce your food intake. To reduce Calories. The education of food is the most important part of weight loss. Controlling your food consumption.

A shake can be a protein shake, a vegetable, fruit, and/or all together shake.

Typically, shakes are lower in calories, have more nutrients, and are less harmful to the human body if you indulge in junk and processed foods.

How Weight Loss is Done

Weight loss occurs when you consistently consume fewer calories than you burn each day. Conversely, weight gain happens when you consistently eat more calories than you burn. Any food or beverage you consume that has calories counts toward your overall calorie intake.

Meal Replacement Shakes Good for Weight Loss?

As I mentioned, shakes are lower in calories and higher in nutrients, but not all shakes are equal.

Now, if you make your own homemade shakes, you have the options and the availability to create a nutritional shake to help with weight loss.

That is the best way.

However, is it healthy to replace meals with a Shake?

Shakes are good and ideal, but I wouldn't recommend replacing every meal with a shake. First off, you cannot get all of your nutrients within a shake, and secondly, you can OVEREAT while consuming shakes if you aren't aware of your calorie consumption. Especially if you're eating and drinking shakes throughout the day.

Shakes are ideal for people who need a convenient and fast way of getting in calories or food.

Bodybuilders, Fitness people, athletes, etc, for example, utilizes Protein shakes to instantly supply the body with protein, to help with recovery, etc.

Shakes in the weight loss aspect can be good and bad

Shakes aren't whole foods. It's not organic and can be deceiving. You can still gain weight from using shakes if you aren't aware of your calorie consumption.

If you have 0 knowledge in the nutritional aspect, creating and/or buying premade shakes can worsen your health because many shakes are processed, loaded with sugar, and can be easily excessively consumed without being full or having aware that you're indulging in these shakes excessively. *That's why I said creating your own shakes is the best way to go about drinking shakes*

Shakes do contain calories, so it can be tricky to balance out Real food with Shakes.

The downside of using Shakes for Meal Replacements

You can easily become malnourished and skinny. Since shakes contain lower calories, it can be confusing how many shakes to drink to maintain a healthy weight if you're replacing all meals with shakes. Many people have 0 knowledge when it comes to calorie tracking, nutrients, and so forth. If you aren't aware of how many calories your body needs in order to stay healthy - you can become malnourished. Severely underfed due to lack of food caused by replacing meals with shakes which will lead to anorexic, muscle loss, etc.

Secondly, people who try this approach, utilizing shakes for weight loss have 0 clues about nutrition, their body, and overall food. You must understand your body, calories, and food as a whole if you're wanting to optimize your health and combat weight issues. Weight gain or loss issues.

Replacing meals with a shake is a bandaid. It doesn't fix anything but is a fast way to promote weight loss. When you go about losing weight fast, you may become sick, ill, and prone to many other health complications. Essentially becoming severely malnourished.

People who tend to favor the meal replacement shakes typically have 0 clues and/or are lazy to go about it the proper way.

The Proper way of Losing Weight

Weight loss occurs when you consistently consume fewer calories than you burn each day. Conversely, weight gain happens when you consistently eat more calories than you burn. Any food or beverage you consume that has calories counts toward your overall calorie intake.

Exercising, Macro manipulation, and decreasing your calories will help with weight loss.

Many people whom are overweight and obese typically have an eating habits. A bad eating habit. Excessively indulging in junk and processed foods, liquid calories, and neglecting healthy nutrients.

When you neglect healthy nutrients, your body will slowly start to deteriorate so thus creating more problems; weight gain/loss malnourishment, and loss of durability, mass, and strength within your muscles and bones...

Whole foods, organic foods is what we should all strive for. Whole and organic food contain more and healthier nutrients than meal replacement shakes and junk food.

Lots of people aren't aware of the dangers of consuming -- excessively consuming junk food on a daily basis.
