KPop Idol Diets! Crazy Diets That Will Shock You!

Kpop idols are attractive, beautiful, and fit; many people look up to them as their "fitspiration." They undergo diet and exercise to achieve their "ideal" bodies. Flat tummies, toned arms, legs, and small waistlines.

KPop Idol's Diet is one of the most extreme dieting practices out there. It involves starving  - essentially because their calorie consumption is very low! Compared to other diets, this is the most extreme case of dieting I have ever seen...

KPop Idols have to look nice. Their appearance must be on point along with their skill (Dancing/singing - etc). Some even will go far to have surgery done to look "right." Every culture is different around the globe - it just so happens that KPop Idol wants to be 'perfect.'

Today, I will be explaining some of the KPop Idol's Diet.

What is KPop Diet?

It basically relies on the intake of whole, unprocessed foods and limiting fatty, sugary, and processed food items. This diet plan aims to help you lose and manage weight by adopting some diet and workout habits.

The Typical Diet of a Kpop Idol

is nothing outstanding - it's absurd.

Most people stick to eating fruits or veggies throughout the day to lose and maintain weight.

This diet is somewhat a "starvation diet." It is designed to help cut off weight dramatically within a short time period.

Kpop diet model is extreme and unrealistic. Many Kpop people have to seek medical attention due to their dieting practice.

Many K-pop idols, regarding their popularity, has to maintain a specific bodyweight.

Some of the Kpop Diet Names:

"Paper Cup Diet"

The elements of this fad diet: take three small paper cups and fill one with rice, one with fruit, and another cup with vegetables and/or meat, making sure not to stuff the cups or exceed the brim of the cups. Repeat three times a day. There’s no set length of time for the diet, but Nine Muses members reportedly stuck to it for five months.

According to the US Department of health, an individual needs 1,600 to 3,000 calories per day depending on your age, level of activities, and gender, and the following diet of these idols are not sufficient, not to mention their heavy loads of works and schedule in a day.

IU KPop Diet

The popular KPop star IU is loved and followed by millions across the world. She has been in the industry for over ten years now and has remained at the top spot for the most part of her singing career. Apart from her music, her beauty is something people love her for. The secret to her attractive look is her diet plan.

IU has managed to maintain her weight through the popular extreme diet called Myproana. This is a recommended diet plan that people can follow until they reach their standard weight. IU eats an apple for breakfast, 1-2 sweet potatoes for lunch and a protein drink for dinner. She follows this diet plan on a daily basis while doing aerobics and other activities.

The singer consumes only 300kcal when on this diet and can lose up to 4kg in four days of following this extreme diet. Regular workouts along with this KPop diet helps her maintain a slim figure.

Let's see another K-pop idol's diet menu

tomato, salad without dressing, cucumber, 1 banana

Chicken breast, sweet potatoes, cabbage

Chicken Breast & Salad, Diet Drink, 1 Banana

The common point of the K-pop idol's diet menu is that it's not suitable for long term diet. In fact, IU said that she received treatment for anorexia due to an extreme diet. For a healthy diet, it is important to have proper meal and exercise in the long term! Please, don't just follow the K-pop idol diet, but make your own healthy diet plan!

F(x)’s main vocalist and dancer, Luna, was known for her adorable chubby cheeks and muscular yet strong legs. But because of that, she received a lot of negative comments and body shaming from netizens. As a result, Luna started to do an extreme diet to lose a lot of weight.
In August 2017, Luna shared the secret for her diet program on her YouTube channel show called “Luna’s Alphabet’. The viewers were shocked after it was revealed because the only thing that she consumed during the diet is Lemon Green Tea Infused Water!
Luna also shows how she makes the infused lemon green tea water, first she slices two lemons and squeezes the juice into a large bottle of water. She then puts another two slices of lemon straight into the water bottle.
Then, she starts to brew one concentrated green tea for around 20 minutes and put the tea into the water bottle. Luna told the viewers that she could drink around two 1.5L of the infused water, without any other food at all! With this detox water, Luna would lose 8kg (almost around 18lbs) in a week!
Why could that happen just because of this kind of water? The reason is the green tea helps to reduce your appetite, and even helps your body to burn fat faster thanks to the natural chemical called ‘catechin’. Drinking water also helps to reduce swelling and keeps us from looking bloated.
But, during the video Luna also warned viewers before to not try the diet, especially if you have anemia.

She admitted that the diet is unhealthy. Luna herself only uses it before her comebacks or other schedule.

Jeon Somi
The soloist claimed that she gains weight even when drinking water, Somi also talked about her dieting methods, which lead her to lose around 10 lbs in a week! She says, “I only eat one banana for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was hard at first, but it gets easier now. I lost 4 kg (around 10 lbs) in one week. It was a great result, so I still do the diet every once in a while.”

Nine Muses' method to only eat what they fit in a small cup to IU's week-long, 300-calorie daily diet of an apple, sweet potato and protein shake, idols speak about their intense (and dangerously unhealthy) dieting seemingly as a point of additional buzz. Even when the results are concerning, the focus tends to lean toward the visual outcome rather than the star's health. BTS' Jimin became malnourished in an effort to be "one of the better-looking guys." B.A.P's Himchan fractured a rib due to a sudden weight loss. Super Junior's Shindong spoke about how fitting into skinny jeans was "the epitome of success" for him. The fewer calories one eats, the more applause they get and the more attractive they are to fans

  • KPop Idol's go under extreme conditions to lose weight and to maintain a slim physique
  • They will do anything to achieve a certain look - sacrificing health, having surgery, etc.
  • The KPop Idol's don't use the same dieting practice for a long time. Many people end up facing health issues, so they resolve that once something happens...
  • KPop Idol's want a fast and effective method - thus - starving is ideal for them.
  • KPop Idol's Do Exercise for a nice toned body
  • Many KPop Idol's face criticisms
Being a K-pop idol means being someone fans look up to, and that can, and certainly should, include individuals who don't fit the same mold as other singers. As K-pop continues to be for everyone regardless of language and culture, shouldn't its singers also be for everyone regardless of weight, looks, height and other surface-level attributes? Who's to say that an idol who doesn't have the perfect "S- or X-line" body doesn't have the requirements to be a top star?

Conclusion
These KPop - Korean - people are no joke when it comes to their physique. They'll do anything just to have an "Ideal" physique.  Even the Pro bodybuilders do not suffer as much as these Idol's do. These Idol's face many problems such as malnourishment and anorexia; from the dieting practice they follow. I would not attempt to do any of these "Kpop Diets" because they can seriously harm you.
