What Is intermittent fasting?

Intermittent fasting is when you do not consume any foods nor beverages. You do this for 10-16+ hours for the benefits to occur. You can, however, drink black coffee, teas and water considering they are 0 calories.

The Benefits of Fasting

People report that they feel much better when fasting. They have a sense of relief, relieving inflammation, improved energy, improved brain processing (brain clarity) & performance. Since you're deprived of foods, your body essentially detoxes itself, releasing all of those nasty, toxic buildups within your body, and that is why people feel refreshed and much improved.

If your diet and nutrition is poor, you're harming your body at the end of the day. Your body will accumulate these toxic nutrients, causing a buildup which causes inflammatory issues and harming your organs/blood/etc. That is why it is important to pay attention to nutrition - you want to nourish your body, not harm it. so, that's why people fast; to help improve their health/ to detox their body

How intermittent Fasting Works.

It also makes people realize the importance of nutrition, how it plays a huge role on the human body - mentally and physically. Fasting does more than make you realize about food, it makes you realize how food affects your health, certain foods will make people more energized, junk food makes people feel down, loss of energy, groggy and unmotivated.

Does Intermittent Fasting Aid in Fat-Loss?

Intermittent fasting can help with fat-loss. Considering you're deprived of foods for about 10+ hours, your body needs energy to continue throughout the day, so it'll find either fat or muscle to acquire energy from; this causes calorie burning, and when you burn calories, you're burning weight off from your body. So, yes, fasting can aid in fat-loss.

Is it Sustainable?

It is sustainable, however, if you're missing out on calories at the end of the day, especially if you're trying to grow in size, then this "style" isn't suitable for you, as a bodybuilder. You need an excess of calories to nourish your muscles, so by fasting, you're skipping on meals or calories. On the other hand, it doesn't cause any health issues unless you have blood pressure problems, etc.

Should You Fast?

  • 1) If your diet and nutrition are poor and if you are feeling unwell, fog headed, loss of motivation, poor performance; try fasting. It'll help reset and make you gain clarity of life.
  • 2) If you want to promote fat-loss, fasting can help with this.
  • 3) Due to poor diet choices, you may have soreness/aches or pains, so by fasting, it'll help reduce the inflammation within your body.
  • 4) If you're excessively eating - if you're overweight and don't know how to control your eating - or gaining the importance of food; how food plays a role in the body.

So, it's not a bad thing to go about. Most people fast anyways and you probably don't know about it. You're only skipping breakfast and perhaps lunch. That's it.
No big thing about fasting just helps a bit in life and with your health.
